My name is Claudia Miro Quesada, and this is my life…”mi vida loca” that I would have no other way…
Peruvian born and California raised; the best of both worlds! I am passionate about traveling and exploring different places and cultures. I try to volunteer as much as possible, and have dedicated my career and life purpose to helping raise awareness for people and organizations making a positive impact in the world. I plan to continue my work and studies in the field of non-profit management and communications.
In my “free time” (ha!) I try to get in as much yoga, hiking, wine tasting, live music, and family/friend time as possible. I love to learn, laugh, and teach – I see potential everywhere and love to help others realize their own! The list of things to do in this very short lifetime is a long one…I hope to share my journey with you here, and look forward to sharing in yours as well….
I’m a marketing communications professional, and started my own company, C.Miro Consulting, in the early part of 2011. I work with individuals and non-profits who need help getting their product, service, or cause out to more people. I help them put their web presence together, and empower them to own and manage it ongoing.
What I’m Doing Right Now:
What would a crazy life be with just one business to manage??
In April of 2012, I accepted the role of Executive Director for Beyond Volunteering, a wonderful project that helps place, coordinate and host volunteers who wish to come to Peru to do meaningful work. They are committed to making sure that volunteers coming to Peru have a positive and mutually rewarding experience; as am I.
Around the same time, I was called back to Casa De Milagros, a project that is very near and dear to my heart. Casa is a home for orphaned and abandoned children in the Sacred Valley of Cusco, Peru, and I served on the US Board of Directors a couple of years ago, acting as Communications Director and Peruvian liaison. I spent 4 months living at Casa in 2010, after the passing of their founder, Mama Kia. They are currently facing a time of financial crisis, and have asked me to come back to act as interim director, and see if we can help restructure, re-organize, and raise much needed funding. Click Here for updates and to learn more about my work with Casa De Milagros.
So I am now back in Cusco, working on both Peruvian projects, meanwhile supporting a few C.Miro Consulting clients. I am immersed in learning the ins and outs of Peru’s NGO/Non-Profits, and how to create a healthy, self-sustaining model for our organization. It’s a big task, this I know, but I’m up for it!
I’m working on establishing a life and career that allows me the freedom and opportunities to live and work in both Peru and the U.S., doing meaningful, inspiring work…I hope to use this site to share my journey; and look forward to sharing in yours…
Love and Blessings,
~Claudia
